history

Today Weiler ( Polish osada ) was originally a Vorwerk for neighboring estate Klein Gablick (Polish Gawliki Małe) and enrolled after 1785 Gembalcken , then to 1945 Gembalken . In 1818 it was a "noble Vorwerk" with ten souls. On September 30, 1928, the Klein Gablick manor district was incorporated with the Vorwerk Gembalken to Wensowken (Polish: Wężówka), which from 1938 belonged to the municipality of Balzhöfen.

In 1905 only 28 inhabitants were registered in Gembalken; it was assigned to the registry office Widminnen (Wydminy) until 1945 .

In 1945 the place came with the whole of southern East Prussia as a result of the war to Poland and has since borne the Polish name Gębałki . Today it is incorporated into the Schulzenamt (Polish sołectwo) Gawliki Małe and thus a village in the rural community of Wydminy (Widminnen) in the powiat Giżycki ( Lötzen district ), until 1998 of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
