Nordstetten (Villingen-Schwenningen)

Nordstetten is a hamlet in the Black Forest-Baar district in Baden-Württemberg . It is part of the large district town of Villingen-Schwenningen . The place has about 150 inhabitants.

history

Prehistory and early history

Behind house no. 1 on the road in the direction of Weilersbach , the remains of a Roman manor can be found. Two roof tiles ( tegulae ) of this building are in the Franciscan Museum of the city of Villingen-Schwenningen .

Early middle ages

Nordstetten was first mentioned as "Nortstati" in a deed of gift from the St. Gallen monastery on August 18, 762. Nordstetten is the oldest documented village in the area of ​​today's city of Villingen-Schwenningen. The second documentary mention was also made as part of a donation to the Gallus monastery only a short time later, on April 24, 764. A diploma from Emperor Ludwig the Pious on June 4, 817, two royal interesters, “Oto” and “Reginker”, were handed down to Nordstetten .
