The Norrström is a natural river in Stockholm and the main drain of the Mälaren to the Baltic Sea . It connects the easternmost part of the Mälaren, the Riddarfjärden , with the Stockholms stöm , the westernmost part of the Baltic Sea bay Saltsjön .
The Norrström runs north of Gamla stan , the old town of Stockholm . The two islands of Strömsborg and Helgeandsholmen are in the Norrström .
The catchment area of the Norrström covers 22650.2 km². The mean discharge of the Norrström is 166 m³ / s.
