The Norsjø is a lake in the Norwegian province of Vestfold og Telemark . The name comes from the old Norwegian nór , which means narrow or narrow . The water level at Skotfoss is regulated by a dam.

Most of the rivers that belong to the Skiensvassdraget river system collect in Norsjø, and the Skienselva river flows into the Skagerrak at Skien . The tributaries of the Norsjø include the Eidselva from Bandak , the Bøelva from Seljordsvatn and the Sauarelva from Heddalsvatn .

The Norsjø is a source of drinking water for the municipalities of Skien and Nome .

The Norsjø is a central part of the Telemark Canal .
