The North Opuha River is a 27 km long river in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The source of the North Opuha River is on the eastern flank of the Sherwood Range , 2.5 km west of the Butler Saddle . From there, the river initially takes an almost 3 km long south-westerly course, and then flows around 24 km further south into the Lake Opuha reservoir .
The 3 km southwest to the Lake Opuha opening out South Opuha River formed before the foundation of the dam at the confluence with the North Opuha River the Opuha River .
