North Providence is a city in Providence County in the state of Rhode Island in the United States .

history

The first whites settled in 1636. 1765 established the self-governing community North Providence, which then also included areas that are now Providence and Pawtucket . But it wasn't until 1974 that a major was elected for the first time.

1921–1971 an area of ​​the community was ecologically contaminated by industrial waste. Nevertheless, the area was built with houses for pensioners and only cordoned off in 2000.
