North West Leicestershire is a district in the county of Leicestershire in England . The administrative seat is the city of Coalville . Other important places are Ashby-de-la-Zouch , Castle Donington and Ibstock . The motorsport racetrack Donington Park is internationally known .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and arose from the merger of the urban districts Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Ashby Woulds and Coalville, the rural districts Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Castle Donington, and part of the Rural District Market Bosworth.
