Oadby and Wigston is an administrative district with borough status in the county of Leicestershire in England . It consists of the towns of Oadby , Wigston Magna and South Wigston , all of which have largely grown together with Leicester . The twin town in Germany is Norderstedt and in France Maromme .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was created from the merger of the urban districts Oadby and Wigston.
