Nouakchott-Nord ( Arabic نواكشوط الشمالية, DMG Nawākšūṭ aš-Šamāliyya ) is an administrative region of Mauritania . It consists of the three north-western departments of the capital Nouakchott : Dar-Naim , Teyarett and Toujouonine . The administrative headquarters are in Dar-Naim and Nouakchott International Airport is in the area of ​​the region.

Nouakchott-Nord was not established until November 25, 2014 when the Nouakchott region was divided into three new regions. wālī or governor is Mohamed Lemine Ould Mohamed Teyib Ould Adi . The main traffic arteries are the N1 and N3 , which run north and west through the region. It borders the Trarza region to the east and north , Nouakchott-West to the west and Nouakchott-South to the south .
