Nouakchott-Ouest (Nouakchott-West, Arabic نواكشوط الغربية, DMG Nawākšūṭ al-Ġarbiyya ) is an administrative region in Mauritania . It consists of the three northwestern departments of the capital Nouakchott : Ksar , Sebkha and Teāvragh-Zeina . The administrative seat is in Tevragh-Zeina and the presidential palace is in the area of ​​the region. The region borders on the Ouad Naga department of the Trarza region to the north . The main traffic artery is the N2 , which runs north along the coast. In the southeast, the N1 forms part of the border with the Nouakchott Nord region .

Nouakchott-West was not established until November 25, 2014 when the Nouakchott region was divided into three new regions. wālī or governor is Mahi Ould Hamed , who had previously been governor of the entire Nouakchott region.
