Novero is a multinational company with offices in Europe, North America and Asia. The head office is in Bochum, Germany. Novero develops extensive communication solutions for the automotive industry. The result of the management buy-out of the former Nokia automobile division in 2008, the total number of employees grew to almost 400 in 2012. The company then provided solutions in the area of ​​3G car telephones with Internet access and a Java / Android / Linux connectivity box for online use of telematics services.

Management change in 2013

With the former Apple manager Freddie Geier as the new CEO and a management team from the automotive, IT and telecommunications industries, Novero is currently concentrating on the merging of consumer electronics and automotive technologies.

Current developments in the automotive industry such as wireless software updates, technology standards such as LTE, 802.11 or Bluetooth Low Energy find their way into the developments as well as the adaptation to specific needs of vehicle manufacturers.

The main focus is on modular control units (gateways) for highly secure data transfer. Novero gateways are used, among other things, for remote control, diagnosis and maintenance of vehicles as well as for tracking and assessing driving behavior. The product portfolio is supplemented by convenience technologies for mobile devices in the vehicle, such as wireless charging and the provision of the best possible reception inside the vehicle with the help of patented high-frequency technologies and antenna coupling.

In December 2015, Novero was sold to antenna specialist Laird .
