Novosad Island is a small and icy island off the Pennell coast of East Antarctica, Victoria . It belongs to the Lyall Islands and is 6 km north-northeast of Cape Hooker before the entrance to Yule Bay .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them based on their own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1970 after Lieutenant Charles Louis Novosad Jr. (1930-2008), a doctor on the Naval Air Facility on McMurdo Sound in 1957.
