FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2018

The FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2018 (also: FIA ETRC 2018 or Truck Racing European Championship 2018 of the FIA ) is a Europe-wide motorsport championship in Category III , Group F ( racing trucks ) according to the FIA ​​classification. The 2018 season includes eight events with four races each. It is the 34th European Truck Racing Championship ever, and the 13th since it was awarded the title “Championship” by the FIA in 2006 (previously the championship only had the status of a “Cup” ).

Rating

Four (4) races are run on each race weekend. In the second (2nd) day race (i.e. races 2 and 4 per race weekend), the reversal rule partially reverses the starting grid of the previous race; this concerns the top 8 at the finish line. The winner of the first or third race of a weekend starts from eighth position (8) in the following race (2 or 4), while the eighth-placed winner of the first or third race starts from pole position . The spaces in between are reversed accordingly. In the evaluation, a distinction is made between the races with and without reversal rule (places 1 - 10):

  • Races 1 and 3 (without reversal rule): 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 point (s)
  • Races 2 and 4 (with reversal rule): 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point (s)

Promoter's Cup

The Promoter's Cup is a new rating introduced in 2017 in addition to the already established ratings for drivers and teams. The otherwise less prominent drivers in the Chrome category take part in the Promoter's Cup . Drivers in the Titan category are excluded from participation. Chrome category drivers are all those who have not been classified as Titan , so they are not

  • within the last ten (10) years, a FIA European Truck Racing Championship the FIA have won.
  • finished the previous season in the top 10.
  • have achieved a better than 6th place in any of the Super Poles of the previous season.
  • meet one of the definition criteria for Platinum or Gold according to the FIA driver categorization .
  • although not belonging to any of the above definitions, achieve outstanding performance and success.

The aim of the Pomoter's Cup , which is endowed with prize money , is to focus more on the drivers and teams who otherwise tend to be in the background and at the same time to offer them an incentive.
