The FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2012 (also: FIA ETRC 2012 or FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2012 ) was a Europe of the FIA discharged motorsport racing championship in the group F (racing trucks ). The eleven (11) Events comprehensive, each with four (4) races Truck Racing Championship was the 28th ever and the seventh (7th) since its 2006 by the FIA , the predicate "Championship" was awarded. Before that, the championship only had the status of a "Cup" .
The defending champion Jochen Hahn won the championship for the second time in a row, ahead of Antonio Albacete and Adam Lacko . The European champions from 2011 and now also in 2012 managed to repeat the podium from the previous year.
There were four races on each race weekend. In each case at the 2nd daily race (i.e. races 2 and 4 per race weekend) the starting grid of the previous race was partially reversed by the reversal rule; this concerns the top 8 at the finish line. The winner of the first or third race of a weekend started from position 8 in the following race, but the 8th of the 1st or 3rd race started from pole position . The places in between have been reversed accordingly. In the evaluation, a distinction was made between the races with and without reversal rule (places 1 - 10):
Races 1 and 3 (without reversal rule): 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 point (s)
Races 2 and 4 (with reversal rule): 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point (s)
