Novy Svet (band)
Novy Svet (Czech Nový Svět in German: New World ) is a music group from Vienna , which was founded in 1997 by Jürgen Weber and Miss Tost . Before that, both band members made music together. Novy Svet present an unusual mixture of folk , minimal electronics , industrial , free jazz , krautrock and noise . Novy Svet himself describes the style as "Combat Folk". The texts are usually Italian or Spanish . But there are also songs that are sung in English , pseudo-Esperanto, French or German .
Novy Svet was the second group to jerk off! Label by Albin Julius , from Der Blutharsch . In the meantime Novy Svet founded their own label with the name Nekofutschata .
The band members also appear individually with other bands or samplers , such as Miss Tost on the Extreme Music From Women sampler, which is distributed by Whitehouse / Susan Lawly .
Miss Tost and Jürgen Weber are now also members of Mushroom's Patience and often work with The Known Post-Industrial Trompeter (also a member of Mushroom's Patience ) and Ô Paradis .
