The Nulato River is a 114 km long right tributary of the Yukon River in western Alaska .
The headwaters of the river are in the Nulato Hills east of the Norton Sound . It flows northeastward and flows into the Yukon River at Nulato .
The name is derived from the name of the Koyukon for the river, which was documented by Lieutenant LA Sagoskin as "R (eka) Nulata" in the 1840s .
