The Nun is a 7135  m high mountain in the Himalayas .

It is located in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh and forms the Nun-Kun massif with the Kun and Pinnacle Peak .

After unsuccessful ascent attempts in 1934 and 1937, the first ascent of Nun was successful in 1953 by a French-Swiss-Indian Sherpa team, led by Bernard Pierre and Pierre Vittoz , an experienced alpinist and missionary in Tibet, over the west ridge (slightest ascent). From this team, Vittoz and alpinist Claude Kogan reached the summit. The north-west side was first climbed in 1977 by seven climbers on a Czech expedition.
