The K6 is a 7,282 m high mountain in Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan . There are two other elevations on its summit ridge, the 7,130-meter-high central summit and the 7,100-meter-high western summit.
location
It is nicknamed Baltistan Peak and is located in the Masherbrum Mountains in the Karakoram . Its northeastern neighbors are the 7041 m high Link Sar and the 6934 m high K7 . Under its north wall is the Charakusa glacier , which flows northwest to the Hushe river valley . In the east is the Kaberigletscher , which flows south.
Ascent history
The first ascent succeeded Eduard Koblmüller as leader and Gerhard Haberl, Dietmar Entlesberger and Gerd Pressl as members of an Austrian expedition on July 17, 1970. A second attempt by other expedition participants failed due to the weather.
