The Sherpi Kangri is a 7,380  m high mountain in the Saltoro Mountains in the Pakistani Karakoram .

location

The Sherpi Kangri is located in the disputed Kashmir region , in the area of ​​the Sherpi Kangri Glacier , which is controlled by the Pakistani military. The Ghent Kangri is just 6 km north-northeast of the Sherpi Kangri, the Saltoro Kangri is 9.5 km southeast.

Ascent history

In 1975 a British expedition attempted the ascent without success. In the following year, a Japanese expedition finally managed the first ascent of Sherpi Kangri. The two expedition members T. Inoue and S. Ogata reached the summit via the west ridge on August 10th.
