Nurmuchamet Magafurowitsch Nigmatullin ( Russian Нурмухамет Магафурович Нигматуллин / Nurmuchamet Magafurovič Nigmatullin, Bashkir Ниғмәтуллин Нурмөхәмәт Мәғәфүр улы / Niğmätullin Nurmöxämät Mäğäfur uly * 8. December 1946 in Sibai , Bashkir ASSR ; † 26. June 2019 ) was an Islamic theologian and a public figure Life and Islam in the Republic of Bashkortostan and in Russia .

Life

Nurmuchamet Nigmatullin had been chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Duchownoje uprawlenije Musulman Respubliki Bashkortostan; DUM RB) and thus Mufti of Bashkortostan since 1992 . The muftiate is headquartered in the city of Ufa .

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims (DUM / ДУМ) in Bashkortostan competes with that of the Regional Spiritual Administration of Muslims in Bashkortostan (RDUM B), chaired by Mufti Muhammad Tajuddin, also headquartered in Ufa.
