Allahşükür Paşazadə

Allahshukur pashazadeh , the German Allahschükür Paschazade ( Russian Пашазаде Аллахшукюр Гуммет оглу Paschasade Allachschukjur Gummet oglu , with full title: seyx-ul-İslam Hacı allahshukur pashazadeh Hümmət oğlu ; * 26. August 1949 in Cil, AsSSR ) is a talyschischer Scheichülislam and the Grand Mufti of the Caucasus and thus the spiritual head of the Muslims in the region .

Life

Allahshukur pashazadeh is August 26, 1949 Place Cil in the district of Lankaran in Azerbaijan was born. He received his first theological training from clergy in his home country. After enrolling at the " Mir-Arab " madrasah in Bukhara, Uzbekistan in 1968 , he completed his studies in Islamic theology in 1975 at the Islamic University of Tashkent . In the same year he was appointed general secretary and deputy head of the spiritual administration of the North Caucasian Muslims (Muftirate). In 1980 he rose to head the same organization and also received the title of Sheikh-ul-Islam . In 1986 he was elected a member of the Royal Jordanian Academy . Paschazade is a professor at Baku State University and a PhD in history.

In 1992 Paschazade was elected chairman of the Supreme Religious Council of the Caucasus Peoples by a shura consisting of the religious leaders of the Muslims from Azerbaijan , Daghestan , Kabardino-Balkaria , Georgia , Ingushetia , Chechnya , Karachay-Cherkessia and Adygeya .

Paschazade is a member of the chairmanship of the international Islam conference , the chairmanship of the Eurasian Islam Shura and several international organizations. In 2004 he was elected co-president of the Council for Religious Dialogue of the Commonwealth of Independent States . In 2009 he was elected a member of the Advisory Commission for Muslims in the CIS .

After the publication of the novel Stone Dreams in December 2012 by the popular Azerbaijani writer Akram Aylisli , in which he recalls pogroms against Armenians in Azerbaijan , Sheikh Allahşükür Paşazadə branded the author as an apostate, just as the Azerbaijani President İlham Əlham Əlijevi had done before would have. After the convicted and confessed murderer Ramil Səfərov , who had beheaded a sleeping Armenian officer with an ax in Hungary , was deported and received in Baku as a national hero without Paşazadə having spoken a critical word about it, the novel written in 2006 was about it outraged author Akram Aylisli has been released.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (Engl. "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ") (October 13, 2007).
