Nurpur is a city ( Municipal Council ) in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh .
Nurpur is located in the Kangra district . At the 2011 census, the population was 9807, 99% of whom were Hindus . Nurpur lies at an altitude of 515 m in the Siwaliks . The Jabbar Khad , a left tributary of the Chakki Khad , flows past the city.
