Nutrat Ceesay

Nusrat Ceesay (born March 18, 1981 in Leyton (London), Great Britain) is a former Gambian - British athlete .

Life

Ceesay was born in London to Gambian parents and has both British and Gambian citizenship. She started athletics at the age of eight. Competitive performance is documented from 1997 onwards.

Ceesay's favorite discipline was the 400-meter hurdles . She started for the Woodford Green Athletic Club with Essex Ladies from Essex . In 2009 she won the athletics championship in Great Britain in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.13 seconds.

In March 2011 she showed interest in representing Gambia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . Subsequently, in order to qualify for the games, she took part for Gambia in the 400-meter hurdles at the Africa Games in Maputo in September 2011 , but was eliminated in the run-up with sixth place with a time of 59.22 seconds disappointed many expectations.

At the African Athletics Championships in June / July 2012 in Porto Novo , she was also unable to qualify for the final with a time of 58.60 seconds. As a result, she missed the qualifying standards of the Olympic Games , which provided for 56.55 seconds, and was unable to participate.

In January 2014 she married the manager Mustapha Saine in Gambia. Your last competition performance is documented in October 2014.
