Nyala ( Arabic نيالا Niyālā ) is the capital of the Sudanese state of Dschanub Darfur and the largest Sudanese city outside the capital region .

The city is located in the southwest of Sudan, around 900 km from Khartoum , south of the Marra Plateau and the local mountain Marra .

history
In the 1980s, the area around Nyala was hit by drought and drought.
As a result of the evictions and looting in Darfur since 2004, some refugee camps have formed on the outskirts that are dependent on the international community.
