O'Donel Levy

O'Donel "Butch" Levy (born September 20, 1945 , † March 14, 2016 ) was an American funk and jazz guitarist .

O'Donel Levy played a. a. from the early 1970s with Ethel Ennis , Jimmy McGriff , Herbie Mann and Norman Connors . He performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival with Jeremy Monteiro , John Stubblefield , Eldee Young and Redd Holt . He released a number of albums under his own name, such as Black Velvet (1971), Breeding of Mind (1972) and Dawn of a New Day (1973, including with Jon Faddis , Cecil Bridgewater , Marvin Stamm , Bill Watrous , Eddie Bert , Chester Thompson ). Tom Lord lists his involvement in 23 recording sessions between 1970 and 2005.
