The OMEG mine office is a historic administration building in Tsumeb in the region Oshikoto in Namibia . It has been a National Monument since February 15, 1990 . Erected in 1907 for the Otavi Mining and Railway Company , it is considered the oldest building in the city.
The building with the clock tower is reminiscent of a church building . The pyramid-shaped roof and tower were built based on the wedding tower in Darmstadt in 1907. The client was probably Rudolf Mann .
In 1947 the office was sold to the O'Okiep Copper Company. In the years that followed, the OMEG mining office served as a library, library, and Methodist church. The "Tsumeb Gimnasium", a private primary and secondary school, has been located here since 1998.
