Palamas ( Greek Παλαμάς ) is a municipality in the Greek region of Thessaly . The administrative seat of the municipality is the small town of the same name, Palamas.
location
The municipality is located in the north of the Thessalian lowlands in the center of the Thessaly region. The Pinios flows through the northern municipality and in parts forms the border with the municipality of Farkadona . Mount Titanos marks the northeasternmost point of the municipality and, at 693 meters above sea level, is also its highest point. Neighboring communities are Larisa in the northeast , Kileler in the east, Farsala in the southeast , Sofades and Karditsa in the south, Mouzaki and Trikala in the southwest and west .
Administrative division
The municipality was formed after the administrative reform in 2010 from the merger of the former municipalities of Palamas , Fyllo and Sellana . The administrative seat of the municipality is the small town of Palamas. The former municipalities have since formed municipal districts. The community is further subdivided into the municipality of Palamas and 19 local communities.
