O Melodie Pentru Europa 2017 was the Moldovan preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev ( Ukraine ). It took place on February 25, 2017. The group SunStroke Project won the preliminary round with the song Hey, Mamma! .
Semifinals
The semi-finals with 16 performers took place on February 24, 2017. Eight entries qualified for the final on the following day.

The final took place on February 25, 2017. After the jury voting, Ethno Republic & Surorile Osoianu were in front of the band SunStroke Project . In the final audience vote, SunStroke Project received twelve points from the audience. After both votes, both performers scored 22 points each. Since, in the event of a tie, the artist with the highest audience votes wins, SunStroke Project prevailed over Ethno Republic & Surorile Osoianu.
