O Melodie Pentru Europa 2018 was the Moldovan preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon ( Portugal ). It took place on February 24, 2018.

format
At first, as in 2017, only one semi-final should take place on February 22, 2018. However, the Moldovan broadcaster TRM announced on January 25, 2018 that there would only be one final with 16 participants. 50% of the winner will be decided by televoting and 50% by a jury. The winner can then represent Moldova at the ESC 2018.
Choice of contribution
Interested parties could apply for the preliminary round from December 1, 2017 to January 15, 2018. The song was not allowed to have already been submitted in another preliminary decision. Foreign artists were allowed to apply, but only if they occupy 50% of the stage. Composers were excluded from this rule.
The 27 submitted entries had to face the live auditions on January 24, 2018 , which were broadcast live on the Internet. There a jury selected the 16 participants for the preliminary decision. On January 25, 2018, TRM announced the 16 finalists.

The finals took place on February 24, 2018, 7:40 p.m. ( EET ). The band DoReDos prevailed in both the jury voting and the televoting. She received a total of 24 points.
