Oath to Vanquish is a Lebanese deathgrind band from Beirut that was formed in 2001.
history
The band was founded in November 2001 by guitarist and singer Elias Abboud and drummer and singer Carlos Abboud. Both had been active in various bands since 1992. The band played their first gig in Amman , Jordan , in February 2002 .
Singer and bassist Joseph "Caveman" Assaf left the band in 2003 and was replaced by Cyril Yabroudi. In the following two years the band played more concerts and worked on their debut album. The album Applied Schizophrenic Science was recorded at Mad House Studios , Lebanon. The album was mixed and mastered by Colin Davis from Imperial Mastering .
In early 2006, the band signed a contract with Grindethic Records , which released the album.
style
The band plays a varied and aggressive mix of Death Metal and Grindcore and is compared to bands like Devourment , Suffocation and Skinless . The guttural singing is extremely deep.
