Skinless ( Engl. For skinless is) a death metal band from Glen Falls , New York , USA .

history

Skinless was founded in 1992. After two demos , the band released their debut album . Several tours followed with Mortician and Incantation , among others , before a split EP with the German death metal band Maledictive Pigs was released. After the strong first album, Skinless got a contract with the American music label Relapse Records . In 2001 the second album Foreshadowing Our Demise was released and through the good distribution network of Relapse Records it was now possible to attract international attention. A tour with Six Feet Under and Hatebreed followed, as well as a show at Beast Fest , a music festival in Japan that also featured music groups such as Slayer and Pantera . This was followed by the third album From Sacrifice to Survival , which was received with mixed reactions by the fans, as the musical direction had changed somewhat. In 2006 the band returned to the old style of music with their album Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead . Skinless then completed the first major European tour in the support program for Immolation and Dying Fetus . In April 2011, the members separated and the band broke up. In 2013 the band re-formed with the members who had already participated in the album Progression Towards Evil .

style

Skinless are associated with New York Death Metal so typical of New York . This style is known for its grooves and the use of breakdowns that are usually found in hardcore punk .

The band is best known for their extreme live performances, where singer Jason Keyser always pushed the fans to the extreme. The band uses intros from pop music evergreens as a humorous insert or challenges the fans to grotesque actions such as a “zombie wall-of-death ”.
