Obaidulla Karimi (born December 21, 1979 in Kabul ) is an Afghan football player .

Club career

Karimi came to Hamburg in 1990 and played in the D-Jugend at SC Hamm 02 in the district of the same name in the Hanseatic city. After playing in the youth team of Hamburger SV , he joined the upper division SC Vorwärts-Wacker 04 in 2001 . He was unable to take advantage of an offer from 1. FC Köln due to multiple metatarsal fractures. Between 2002 and December 2008 he played for Altona 93 , SV Lurup , Eintracht Norderstedt and SC Concordia Hamburg before signing with Hamm United FC in January 2009 . After two and a half years he left the club and played the 2011/12 season at HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst .

International career

Midfielder Karimi has played 13 games for the Afghan national soccer team since 2003 and scored the first goal of his country's 2010 World Cup qualifying match against Syria on October 26, 2007 .
