Oberauerkiel is a district of the municipality of Böbrach in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen .

location

Oberauerkiel is located in the rain depression about four kilometers southeast of Böbrach.

history

Urcho (= Old High German "Auerkuh") is already in a diploma from Emperor Charles III. on July 19, 882 mentioned as property of Metten Monastery . Originally it was not a settlement name, but a landscape name that goes back to the location of an Auerkuh . The place is still called Auerkhue in 1596 and Auerkiel only from 1752 . The demarcation to Unterauerkiel first appeared in 1309 as Obern Awrchu , but there was often no differentiation between Oberauerkiel and Unterauerkiel.

The captaincy in the Grueb of 1538 corresponds to the chairman shaft Auerkiel of 1752. In 1808 from the Chairman stem Auerkiel and partly the chairman shaft Böbrach the tax district built Auerkiel, who was in 1811 again divided into the communities Auerkiel and Meindlgrub. In the municipal edict of May 17, 1818, however, the previous municipalities Auerkiel and Meindlgrub were subordinated to the municipality of Böbrach .

After the Auerkiel School was built in 1906 by the Munich architect Theodor Mayer, cooperator Georg Strohmeier founded an association in 1910 to build a school mess chapel. The school church was inaugurated in September 1923. From 1945 to 1967 it had its own pastor.
