The settlement Oberndorf bei Immenstadt (official name Oberndorf b.Immenstadt ) with 786 inhabitants (as of the census of 25 May 1987) is the largest district in the district Martinszell the municipality Waltenhofen between Kempten (Allgäu) and Immenstadt and is at an Height of 740 m above sea level. The village is rural, but at the same time offers good connections to the business locations of Kempten, Immenstadt and Sonthofen .

Oberdorf now has the only stop on the Kempten – Immenstadt railway line . But this bears the name of the neighboring village Martinszell. Oberdorf can be reached by car via the nearby B19 . Kempten and Sonthofen can be reached in less than 10 minutes. The shore of the Niedersonthofener See is only around 400 meters away.
Infrastructure

Cultural
In 2014 the IG OMa eV (interest group for the promotion of village development in Oberdorf / Martinszell) was founded. The IG runs a café in the former train station in Oberdorf, offers cultural events and organizes village festivals. It also organizes a small weekly market at the station building.
The Martinszell Youth Theater is a nationally known theater group. The association, founded in 1981, currently has over 150 members. The youth theater consists of various children and youth groups as well as a group of jugglers and a troupe for black theater . The main venue and the rehearsal rooms of the youth theater are located in the multi-purpose hall in Oberdorf.
