location

Obereulenbach is located in the Hallertau about one kilometer south of Rohr.

history

Several finds give evidence of a Neolithic settlement. A stone saw from here is exhibited today in the Archaeological Museum of the city of Kelheim . The place was originally called Alinpah or Allinbach and was therefore an aristocratic seat of the Alo or Alin am Bach. In 934 this name appears in the Ebersberg traditions (Cartular Ebersberg I). Obereulenbach is already present in the donation and purchase deeds of the Rohr monastery, which was founded around 1133 . Eberhard von Allnpach became the second provost of the Augustinian canons' monastery in 1138 , and in the following centuries Obereulenbach was always closely associated with the Rohr monastery.

In 1755 Obereulenbach consisted of 19 properties. Until the secularization in Bavaria , the properties belonged to the Rohr monastery as basic and tithe homesteads, which also looked after the place with pastoral care. In 1803 it became a branch of the parish of Rohr. When the benefit was established in 1852, Obereulenbach got its own clergyman.

The political community Obereulenbach was founded in 1822 and belonged to the Abensberg district court . She came on April 1, 1927 from the Kelheim district office to the Rottenburg ad Laaber district office and then from 1939 belonged to the Rottenburg an der Laaber district . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , it was incorporated into the Rohr market in Lower Bavaria on July 1, 1972.

The former school house was built in 1909 and was either two or one class until the school reform in Bavaria in 1969. It is now privately owned.
