The Oberschule Zschorlau ( middle school Zschorlau until the school year 2012/2013 ) is a general school in the municipality of Zschorlau in the Erzgebirge district with grades five to ten. The school belongs to the regional school district of Zwickau , the school authority is the municipality of Zschorlau.
history
The high school building was built in 1912 and 1913. During the fall of the Wall , fundamental renovations were necessary to maintain the house .
Modern specialist cabinets such as the computer cabinet, the video room, the sewing room and the kitchen with modern household appliances were set up. The construction of a new gymnasium began on the school grounds in 1995 .
School grounds
The school building has four floors with a total of 18 classrooms. Four classrooms are set up on the ground floor, as well as on the first and second floors . In the basement there are two technical rooms, a utility room and a school canteen with dining room.
There are four classrooms that are not used as subject classrooms, as well as 14 subject classrooms, five of which are for the linguistic / literary / artistic area, seven for the mathematical / scientific / technical area and two for the social science area.
In addition to the normal classrooms, there are rooms on all floors for exam preparation and for reviewing class work . The entire inventory of school materials and teaching aids is housed in the preparation rooms.
For physical education , the students use the gym, which is around 100 meters away. It consists of three individual rooms, one large for general use. Events and competitions mainly take place in the large sports hall. There is a playground between the gym and the school, in which a playground and a few parking spaces are integrated. There is also an outdoor sports facility. On September 26, 2008, the new mini-pitch was inaugurated in the presence of many students, teachers and prominent guests - including DFB President Theo Zwanziger .
Profiles and offers
The school offers a social-domestic, a technical and an economic profile from the seventh grade onwards. Furthermore, there are five selectable inclination courses: health and sport, entrepreneurship, art and culture, science and technology, and social and societal action.
There are also extra-curricular activities in the areas of housekeeping, sports, technology and culture.
Traditionally, several school events are held each year, ranging from project days to sports festivals and competitions. The Oberschule Zschorlau works with a special school program as well as different focus areas for the current school year.
