Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (Egypt)

The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (المجلس الأعلى للشؤون الإسلامية / al-Maǧlis al-Aʿlā li-š-Šuʾūn al-Islāmīya ; engl. Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs ; Abbreviation SCIA) in the Arab Republic of Egypt is based in Cairo on the al-Azhar . It reports to the Ministry of Foundations under Islamic Law ( Awqāf ).

Various Islamic encyclopedias are published by the Awqāf Ministry and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (in the book series سلسلة الموسوعات الإسلامية المتخصصة / Silsilat al-mawsū'āt al-Islamiya al-mutaḫaṣṣiṣa ), including previously under Gamal Abdel Nasser called Encyclopedia of Islamic law (fiqh al-Mawsū'at al-Islami).
