The Obscha ( Russian О́бша ) is a left tributary of the Mescha in the Russian oblasts of Tver and Smolensk .

The Obscha rises on the heights of Bely , a foothill of the Smolensk Heights , in the Tver Oblast. It flows in a predominantly westward direction into the Smolensk Oblast. She passes the small town of Bely . 30 km west of Bely the Obsha River eventually flows into the Daugava creek Mesha.

The Obscha has a length of 153 km. It drains an area of ​​2080 km². It is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The mean discharge 47 km above the mouth is 11.5 m³ / s. The river is ice-covered between November and the end of March / April.
