Normal way East rise from Hinteregg

The Ochsenbug (sometimes referred to as the crystal head ), a mountain with a height of 3007  m above sea level. A. , is in the Venediger group of the Hohe Tauern in Austria . The summit is located about 6 km as the crow flies northwest of Matrei in East Tyrol and is the easternmost three-thousand-meter peak in the Venediger group. The marked normal ascent from Hinteregg is relatively easy to climb in dry and snow-free conditions.

rise

The marked normal ascent leads in approx. 5 - 6 hours (very sporty mountaineers also in 4 hours) from Hinteregg ( 1433  m above sea level ) first northwards along the Tauern valley to the so-called Nunitzköpfl ( 2015  m above sea level ) in a south-westerly direction, then more steeply to the west through the Ochsenbugleit'n to the summit with a large cross. The ascent from the south is technically not necessarily more difficult, but more dangerous, and has already claimed several lives. Starting from the Lahntaler Alm (1764 m), partly very steep grass slopes and slabs up to the summit. Some guides strongly advise against this tour.
