The Ocoa Point ( Spanish Punta Ocoa ) is a steep headland in the west of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the Byers Peninsula , it is at the head of New Plymouth Bay . Inland it is characterized by pronounced terracing .
Scientists of the 25th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1970–1971) probably named it after a member of the expedition. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 1978.
