Octave Depeyre

Octave Victor Depeyre (born October 15, 1825 in Cahors , Département Lot , † October 29, 1891 in Paris ) was a French politician .

biography

After studying law, Depeyre worked as a lawyer in Toulouse and worked for the Gazette du Languedoc newspaper . In 1861 he became the supervisor of the Académie des Jeux floraux , which was founded in 1323 as Gai Saber , was re-established in 1694 and is considered the oldest literary society in the western world.

On February 8, 1871, he became a member of the National Assembly , where he represented the interests of the Haute-Garonne department as a member of the Union des Droites until March 7, 1876 . During this time he was Minister of Justice in the government of Prime Minister Albert de Broglie from November 26, 1873 to May 22, 1874 .

He was later from January 1876 to January 1879 member of the Senate for the Lot department and was also in 1877 as successor to the Comte de Germiny administrator of the Institut Catholique de Paris , the Catholic University of Paris.
