Octave Gallian
Octave Gallian (born July 21, 1855 in Toulon , † January 10, 1918 in Paris ) was a French genre and portrait painter.
Octave Gallian studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris and at the Académie Julian with Jules Lefebvre , Gustave Boulanger and Charles Ginoux .
He set up his Paris studio in the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré , where he was engaged in portraiture.
He maintained contacts with the Toulon artists and became a member of the local artist society.
In 1887 he created two wall paintings in the stairwell of the Toulon Art Museum, which were destroyed by bombing during World War II .
He exhibited from 1879 to 1891 and from 1897 to 1905 in the Salon des Société des Artistes Français and from 1892 to 1896 in the Salon des Société nationale des beaux-arts . He also took part in exhibitions of the Amis des Arts in Toulon.
