The Odacini are a twelve species in six genera comprehensive tribe of wrasse (Labridae). They differ from the other wrasse in their fused teeth that form sharp edges. Like the parrot fish , the Odacini were and are also counted as an independent family within the wrasse-like (Labroidei). Phylogenetically , however, they clearly belong to the wrasse. They are a clade of dental wrasse that specialize in plant food .
