Oestreich (organ building family)

The Oestreich family from Oberbimbach and Bachrain was a Hessian family of organ builders who worked for five generations in Hesse, Franconia, Thuringia, Westphalia, and most recently in the USA.

origin

Their immediate ancestors were Michael Oestreich (* around 1650 in Kämmerzell , † 1717 in Oberbimbach) and his son Conrad (* 1681 in Kämmerzell, † 1737 in Oberbimbach). Conrad's son Jost was the family's first organ builder.
