The Prinses Amalia offshore wind farm is located in the exclusive economic zone of the Netherlands in the southern North Sea . It was named after a member of the Dutch royal family. Electricity from the wind farm has been fed into the grid since June 2008; it supplies an estimated 125,000 households.

60 with wind turbines of the type Vestas V80-2MW the wind farm has an installed power of 120  MW . The wind farm generates around 435 GWh of electrical energy annually and thus avoids 225,000  CO 2 emissions . The connection to land is via an export cable that is operated with 150 kV high voltage . The inner park cabling works with 22 kV medium voltage .

The wind farm is 23 kilometers from IJmuiden . The water depth there is between 19 and 24 meters. Due to its distance, the wind farm is hardly visible from the coast. It covers an area of ​​about 14 km 2 . The project costs were given as 380 million euros.

After an operating period of ten years, Eneco signed several contracts for the maintenance of the systems in April 2018. With the overhaul and repair ( refurbishing ) of transmissions of the type ZFEH804 was Siemens, Gamesa commissioned.
