occupation

Oh Fortuna is a crime comedy by the cameraman and director Johannes Klais from 2010 and the production company Gratisfilm. It pays homage to Ruhr area culture and the microcosm of amateur football .

action

The clammy suburban club SV Fortuna Dortmund is fighting against relegation in the district league C and a greedy speculator wants to build a crushed stone parking lot on the club's premises. The investor Dr. Dr. von Schwertner tries to break the resistance of the club by blackmailing groundsman Walter Mitbe and kidnapping his daughter Samantha. Juergen Sugar and Eddy Grabowski, the two stars of the Fortuna team, set out to save Samantha and ultimately her club. But her opponent has gathered a number of half-silly henchmen who help him with his dirty business. Chief Inspector Udo Alte, who studied in San Francisco but is just as welcome in Dortmund's red-light district, doesn't prove to be of much help either. In an action-packed finale from the last game of the season, chases and brawls, it is of all people a grandpa from the allotment garden who gives the decisive tip for answering the all-important question: Will Fortuna manage to stay in the league?

production

The film Oh Fortuna was made by Gratisfilm in co-production with the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . Gratisfilm secured the financing of the shooting without any subsidies . The film production also received financial support for the shooting from some sponsors and private donors. This project was only possible because all those involved waived their fees. All technical equipment was provided by the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences (department of design), where director and cameraman Johannes Klais studies the subject of camera. Most of the filming took place on the sports facility of the Dortmund soccer club SuS Hörde.
