Olaf Dressel (born September 19, 1968 in Bochum ) is a German former football player .

In the seven years of his career he played for VfL Bochum and made 82 appearances in Bundesliga games and five games in the DFB Cup. Although he was not used, his greatest success was his participation in the DFB Cup final in 1988. He came in the first cup main round, on August 28, 1987, at 0-0 after extra time at VfB Oldenburg and was twice in the Bundesliga series in 1987 / 88 used. After several serious injuries, he had to end his career at the age of 25. Dressel won the German B-Juniors football championship with the B-Youth on July 14, 1985 under coach Erich Schiller and teammate Thorsten Legat with a 3-0 win against Kickers Offenbach . From the VfL youth department via the amateur team, he played his way up to the Bundesliga team.

Today, Olaf Dressel works in the media sector as the publishing manager for "Marketing and Events" at PROKOM Verlag, which publishes the RevierSport newspaper, among other things . He regularly supports the traditional team of VfL Bochum.
