Olaf Georg Klein

Olaf Georg Klein (* 1955 in Berlin ) is a German author and coach .

Life

Olaf Georg Klein studied Protestant theology at the Humboldt University in Berlin with a focus on philosophy and psychology (Diploma 1984). He then worked in adult education at the Evangelical Academy Berlin-Brandenburg until 1985.

He has been a freelance writer since 1986. He has published numerous books, radio plays, short stories, essays and specialist articles. In 1989 he worked actively in the New Forum and was a member of the Berlin Speaker Council. His novel Nachzeit was published by Thomas Müller Verlag in Berlin in 1990 and was translated into American in 1999 and published in Northwestern University Press.

From 1990 he went on numerous reading, study and lecture trips, among others to Switzerland, Greece, Italy, several times to the USA, France and India. From 1991 to 1993 he worked on the research project Mentality and Mentality Change at the Potsdam College.

In addition to his work as an author, Olaf Georg Klein has also worked as a coach and consultant since 1991.

His book Suddenly everything was completely different was published in 1994 . German life in upheaval , which caused a great international response and for which he received several award grants, including from the Berlin Senator for Culture. As Writer in Residence , Klein taught in 1997 as a visiting professor at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania / USA.

Since 2000 he has also been working as a coach at the level of top executives in German and international companies, especially on the topics of communication, conflict resolution, mediation and change.

In 2001 he published his book You Can't Understand Us. Why East and West Germans talk past each other at Eichborn Verlag , which has become a bestseller.

In 2004, Olaf Georg Klein became a member of the PEN Center Germany and from 2007 to 2009 was a member of the Presidium and representative of the PEN Writers for Peace Committee

His time-philosophical book Time as the Art of Living was published by Klaus Wagenbach in 2007 . In 2018 the phenomenology diary was published , also by Klaus Wagenbach.

Olaf Georg Klein is a certified teaching coach and senior coach and has been a member of the German Coaching Association since 2008 .
