Olaf Grohmann

Olaf Grohmann (* 1960 ) is a German historian , publicist , exhibition maker , publisher and photographer .

Life

After graduating from school, Olaf Grohmann studied history, English and pedagogy at the university in Hanover and completed his doctorate with a Dr. phil. from.

Grohmann works as a freelance historian, author, exhibition maker and publisher. As an autodidact in photography, he captured many of his preferred historical and technical objects in documentary form. Grohmann belongs to the network for industrial culture in central Lower Saxony based in Wennigsen am Deister , as do the photographers Martin Stöber and Hartmut Möller. Together, the three created a fund of black and white photographs with images of historical technical facilities such as industrial plants, mines, traffic routes or hydraulic structures in the area between Hanover, Hildesheim and Hameln, with which they can see the industrial history in central Lower Saxony such as decay or re-use at the time of In 2017 they were documented and made available to a wider public in the photo exhibition entitled “Relicts” in the Museum at the Hüttenstollen in Salzhemmendorf .
