Olaf Hense
Olaf Hense (born November 19, 1967 in Dortmund ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who was a successful 400-meter runner and 400-meter hurdler in the 1990s . His greatest success is the bronze medal at the 1993 World Championships with the 4 x 400 meter relay (2: 59.99 min, together with Rico Lieder , Karsten Just and Thomas Schönlebe ; Olaf Hense as third runner).
He also took part in the 1991 World Championships and the 1992 Olympic Games as a hurdler, but did not make it into the finals.
Olaf Hense belonged to the LG Olympia Dortmund and trained with Axel Helbig , later with Rolf Krüsmann . In his playing days he was 1.87 m tall and weighed 74 kg.
He grew up in Schwerte-Ergste and initially trained as a locksmith, later he studied mechanical engineering. After the end of his sports career in 1998, he worked as a mechanical engineer.
